What Does It Mean To Be CHOSEN?

I can’t believe that it is already almost a week after my retreat experience.  Going in, I expected to enjoy myself however; what I received was just so much more.  All week-long I have been reflecting on the scriptures, my notes and all that was seen and heard over the weekend.  Members and non members alike, from near and far come to experience GOD through the CHOSEN, which speaks to the way in which the spirit moves through its ministry. I was blessed to have taken this years journey with one of my closest friends.

This years theme was “HerStory: Living Out Loud” with an emphasis on 1Peter 2:9-11 (msg).  Throughout the various workshops, sermons and retreat activities like other attendees, I felt as if they were speaking directly to me.  From the blog, life happenings and just this current season of my life, I was challenged, encouraged and affirmed.  I shed some tears, laughed, prayed and had a fellowship with an amazing bunch if women.  I can honestly say I left with an arsenal of tools to go along with the assignment.  Whether you’re mature in your walk or discovering your purpose, this weekend made it plain and clear that there is work to be done with our specific names on it!

I am humbly grateful for Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC)  and CHOSEN  Women’s Ministry and the way in which they model what it means to intentional about personal growth, relationships and service.  From “Going Just Beneath the Surface” to “Amplifying your Voice” to “Knowing Your Name (the name you use to define yourself)”: What Does It Mean TO Be CHOSEN?
