You don’t get anymore Brooklyn then yours truly.  Outside of college, it’s the only place I’ve ever lived and that rings true for countless others around the borough.  For many, the rate of our loved boroughs growth has been a hard pill to swallow with so many mixed feelings.

As I have often acknowledged like other Brooklynites, I love so many aspects of what our borough has grown to however; it has not been without a cost to so many.  I get into the gentrification conversation all too often and now I open the question to you, Brooklyn: Are You Coming Along or Being Left Behind?

I recently was at one of my service activities and got into a discussion with a fellow volunteer which I normally try to avoid.  This was a white women who wasn’t a native New Yorker but has lived here close to all of her life.  She’s and advent volunteer and participates in many philanthropic causes that benefit the “underserved”. We got into the “being priced-out” conversation and her position was “they need to just move”.  Let’s just say, that conversation derailed.

Just about everyday Brooklyn is in the headlines, here are two of this weeks most compelling:   Spread Love, It’s The BrooKlyn Kisha Way!
